SUMMARY
Francis has a panic attack and Richard takes him to hospital. Charles crashes and ends up in hospital, where he tells Richard he fears Henry will kill him. Richard can smell the alcohol on Charles’ breath. As he looks after them both in hosptial, Richard reflects on his relationship with the group. Richard and Francis visit Henry and Camila, after not being able to get into contact with them. Yet Charles follows with a gun.
As he tries to shoot Henry, he hits Richard by mistake. When the police are called by neighbours, to keep the group safe and secret hidden, Henry shoots himself.
From then on, Richard only stays in touch with Camila and Francis, returning home to California for good.
The last episode is the explosion of the character’s reactions. Francis and Charles both end up in hospital and Richard finds himself looking after the two. He wonders how it got to this as wanders down the hospital corridors.
Richard is closest to Francis out of the group and they decide to go and see Henry and Camila. This is the climactic confrontation. This is set in a hotel room that Camila staying in. I want it set in the centre of the town to stop the idea that they can do what they want as they are alone or in the middle of nowhere. They are faced with reality.
Charles is possibly the worst affected and carries a gun. I want this gun to appear in previous episodes (Chekov’s gun). Yet their is a redemptive quality to Henry and Richard being shot is almost a ‘telling off’ for him getting involved with this group. They all go their separate ways and whilst they are all fine, their lives a beyond what they wanted to expected.
