SUMMARY
The group attend Bunny’s funeral yet have become more fracturous. Charles has developed an alcohol problem and abusive towards Camila. They are all staying at Bunny’s parents for the funeral, and are struck and concerned by the impact their actions have had on the family as well as their mental state, disturbed by the fact that many look strikingly similar to Bunny. Julian is at the funeral also. Camila moves into a hotel with the help of Henry, they two having become more close after the murder. Julian discovers the group’s secrets after noticing the Rome hotel logo on a letter he was by Bunny, that before seeing the logo had believed to be fake, of his fears of being murdered by the group.
There is a deep amount of irony in the group attending Bunny’s funeral. It is also an insight into the real impacts of their actions. We see how destroyed Bunny’s family are as well as frictions in the group. The pressure of having to act polite and natural is an interesting situation to explore the character’s growing hysteria and the push and pull of keeping up pretence.
Richard also goes to a college part and imagines Bunny dancing. He is realising how distant and disconnected his is with everyone else at college and reflects on this. Bunny’s dance is ghostly and haunting, not quite human. Richard leaves and meets Francis and with him they go and see Julian as they realise he is onto them.
